Sharon M. Grosfeld has been working with Paula Peters since 1989. She received her law degree from Antioch School of Law, and prior to that, received her Master's Degree in Sociology from New York University. In May, 2009, Sharon was appointed by Chief Judge Robert M. Bell to serve on the Standing Committee On Pro Bono Legal Services.

Sharon concentrates her practice in the area of domestic relations, particularly divorce and child custody, and has been recognized for her contributions and achievements to the field by being awarded the prestigious Beverly Groner Award from the Maryland State Bar Association's Family and Juvenile Law Section Council. She also represents Defendants in minor criminal offenses, as well as accepting other civil cases.

In addition to being an attorney, Sharon served in the Maryland General Assembly for 12 years. She was first elected to the House of Delegates representing District 18 in Montgomery County in 1994 and was a member of the House Judiciary Committee until 2002, when she was elected to the state Senate. There, she served on the Education, Health and Environmental Affairs Committee.

Sharon was a highly respected member of the General Assembly, and continues to be known as a tireless advocate for the rights of victims, the poor and people with disabilities. She has received numerous awards from women's groups, disability organizations, and environmental groups. Sharon has also been regarded as an expert in the area of family law, and during her 12 years in political office, sponsored many pieces of legislation that modernized the area of domestic relations.

At the end of her Senate term in 2006, Sharon chose not to run for re-election and instead, started working at the Democratic National Committee on Capitol Hill as the Executive Director of the Women's Leadership Forum. From 2006 to 2008, Sharon worked to get more women engaged in politics at all levels. She provided training to women interested in running for office and was a frequent keynote speaker at conferences around the country. Sharon currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Woman's National Democratic Club in Washington D.C., and is a contributing writer for the website "electwomen.com."

In addition to her work as a family lawyer, Sharon is an adjunct professor at George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management where she teaches courses on "Political Leadership," "Leadership in Public Office" and "Women & Political Leadership."
